A post by Duncan
Eve is pretty remarkable. She packs two days before a trip. She thinks she can't sing, but she can. And she loves French fries, but always shares them with me. The first time I saw her, I didn't know any of these things about Eve, but these are the three reasons I fell in love with her.
Eve, the early packer
I love how Eve balances my life. She's the yin to my yang. She's the Starsky to my Hutch. Except she's a woman. And we go by our first names. I can barely manage to pack two minutes before a going on a trip, let alone two days. Eve understands prioritizing and scheduling, two skills that I have yet to master. The good news is that Eve is a positive influence on me. Before you know it, I'll be packing several hours before I go anywhere.
Eve, the singer
I sing. A lot. And I feel bad that Eve has to endure being asked "So, do you sing?" every time she meets someone I sing with. Her answer is always something cute like "You don't want me to" or "People run away when I sing." But she does sing. And she sings well! We sing together all the time. One of us (usually Eve) will start the lyrics from a song, and the other (usually me) will finish it. What makes this exciting (and one of the three reasons I love her) is that somehow she never knew she had this skill before. How great is it that we can still learn things we never knew about each other, AND learn things from each other we never knew about ourselves!
Eve, the potato advocate
Eve and I are the kind of people who don't turn down a curly fry. It's just not done. And we can't wait to try the new crazy flavor of chip Kettle comes out with (my money's on sesame ginger next). While I love that Eve and I share a passion for potatoes, what I love even more is that she shares her potatoes with me. Eve wasn't going through the easiest time in her life when we met. She wasn't sharing her French fries with anyone, because when all of your fries have been taken from you, it forces you to ration them. You start wondering if you'll ever have enough French fries to share again. It says something about Eve that even during such a difficult time she took a chance and shared her life with me. I can't wait to spend mine with her.
A note from us
We are thrilled that you, our family and friends, are able to share this special time in our lives. Please feel free to browse, learn more about us, and then take yourself out for a nice light lunch. Maybe a grilled cheese sandwich, creamy tomato soup, and a glass of ice water with a slice of lemon.
